The Advanced Imaging Conference (“AIC”) was established in 2004 by a group of dedicated astronomy enthusiasts and incorporated as a California non-profit corporation in 2005. Over this period AIC has gathered, created, and disseminated information on how to produce astro-images of the highest quality, while helping to grow the size of the global astro-imaging community. AIC has also strived to give amateur astrophotographers the opportunity to make legitimate contributions to the professional scientific community, and to increase the general public’s awareness and appreciation of the wonderful images produced by amateur astrophotographers and their equipment.

During this 20-year period, several thousand astro-imaging practitioners have attended AIC conferences. These conferences have provided a forum for the top worldwide amateur and professional imagers to introduce AIC’s attendees to leading-edge techniques for producing images of the highest quality. Many of its attendees have assisted with university level scientific research projects.
